What
We Do
1st Ickenham Scout Group was established in 1924. Since
then thousands of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have enjoyed a
huge range of Scouting activities with us. Boys, girls and
all young people aged six to 14 can apply to join
regardless of religion or creed. Our youngest member is 6
and our oldest volunteer is over 70.
The 1st Ickenham
provides a huge variety of Scouting activities from camping
trips and training for badges to community activities and
social and sporting events. The young people who join learn
everything from how to cook for themselves, to how to play
a part in a team, to how to "be prepared" for life.
Along the way there's a lot of fun and excitement too.
In the past year our
young members have been involved in everything from Camping
Competitions to football tournaments, rifle shooting
competitions, abseiling, night hikes and even cake making.
Behind all these
activities there is a hard working Group Executive
Committee run by volunteers of all ages and an enthusiastic
team of Scout Leaders. All adult helpers are volunteers who
give generously of their time. The group meets at the 1st
Ickenham Scout HQ, Community Close, Ickenham (near Ickenham
Library) and is a Registered Charity, No.
